Will you remind me of my appointment?
Yes. Your appointment will be confirmed 24 hours in advance.

Hairstyles and hair coloring questions
Can I cut and color my hair at the same day?
Yes. We suggest that you schedule your color appointment first though.
Should I wash my hair before coloring it or getting an updo?
No. Washing the hair strips away its natural oils. When creating an updo, the natural oils in the hair give it better holding properties and make it easier to work with. Natural oil is perfect protection, it is creates buffer between skin and the color.
What if I don't like my haircut or color that I received at DEFFORGE salon?
If you are not 100% satisfied you are more than welcome to come back for a complimentary redo with the same service provider or someone else.

Color should last 4-6 weeks, highlights 6-12 weeks. To ensure maximum longevity, use Rene Furterer's color enhancing masks twice weekly - it truly makes a difference. Color is a commitment and requires a little extra care if it's to retain its vibrancy and shine.
What shampoo should I use to protect my color-treated hair?

The okara complex contains proteins, filling in the breaks where it is needed to restructure and strengthen the hair. The vitamin B5 adds shine, the exclusive French formula simply makes the hair easier to comb. The okara system includes conditioner, and protective mousse with sunscreen to stabilize color between visits to the salon.

Can I come in for a consultation?
Yes. We love to meet our clients, find out what their hair goals are and how we can reach those goals together. We do this free of charge.
Can you teach me how to do my hair?
Absolutely, that is our specialty. We have "Hair Boot Camps", and teach you as we are styling your hair. Our goal is to have you look your best after you style your hair. Our best form of advertisement is your appearance.
How much should I tip?
A professional stylist who maintains your look, who stays up-to-date with the latest techniques, deserves your appreciation. Tipping for service at a salon is typically handled as you would tipping for service in a restaurant. Generally 10-20% of the total service is appropriate, depending upon how you feel the quality of service was, and don't forget to tip the shampooist.

Yes, by regular cleansing, using AHA products and having professional facials regularly. Our product recommendation: *Guinot Pure Balance Serum.
My skin tends to be dehydrated. What causes skin dehydration?
Age is an important factor in skin dehydration, but there are several other factors responsible for dehydrated skin, including environmental conditions (wind, cold, and sun) as well as fatigue and stress. Dehydrated skin has an impaired hydrolipidic film that deprives the skin of its natural protection so that it becomes dry and rough. Dehydrated skin lacks suppleness and the complexion can look dull.

What are Microdermabrasion treatments like?
Microdermabrasion is one of the most requested non-invasive cosmetic procedures in the U.S. and Europe. With the aid of micro-crystals vacuumed through a delicate hand piece, the procedure produces a skin polishing peel. It is safe to use on all skin types and colors. Most people say the treatment feels as if a cat were licking them.
What results can I expect?
Age spots and fine lines are reduced, pores are unclogged, acne is diminished, collagen is stimulated and a more uniform tone is evident. Most clients report that their skin seems softer, tighter, smoother and younger-looking.
How soon will I see results?
You will notice an immediate improvement after your first treatment. Your skin will have a fresh pink glow and smoother texture. Improvements continue throughout your treatment program.
How long does a treatment take?
Most facial treatments take 30 minutes. Other areas may vary.
How many treatments will I need?
Although fantastic results are achieved with the first session, a minimum of six treatments is recommended for long-lasting results. These treatments are usually given every two weeks. After the first six sessions, you should receive treatments once a month to maintain your youthful-looking skin.
Who should consider Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is right for all skin types and for anyone interested in minimizing the appearance of: scarring, fine lines, pigmentation problems, uneven skin tones, dull, lifeless and sun-damaged skin.
What should I do after treatment?
You can resume your daily activities immediately after treatment. It is recommended you avoid sun exposure on the treated area for at least 24 hours. Also, because your outer layer of skin has been exfoliated, the treated area will be sensitive to hot water and sweat for the first day.
Exactly what can I get done with permanent makeup?
It is possible to have your eyeliner, eyebrows, lip color, areola, beauty marks and various forms of camouflage.
How long does it last for?
Depending on individual metabolism, it can last anywhere from one to five years. Then you may have a touch up done at a much-reduced price.
Does it hurt?
Since everyone has a different pain tolerance, some may feel a higher sensitivity than others. It is often described as a stinging sensation. We always use a topical before and during the procedure. Some steps to take to help you be more comfortable: You may be more sensitive prior and during your period so schedule around that. You can take a non aspirin pain reliever prior to your appointment. Make sure you have eaten a meal prior to the appt. No COFFEE, ALCOHOL, ASPIRIN, ANTI HISTAMINE, prior to your appt.
Do people ever have an allergic reaction?
Allergic reactions to permanent makeup and tattooing in general are extremely rare. As a precaution we always do a test patch to be safe. This is done three days prior to your first appointment or during the consultation.
What if in years to come I change my mind about the style and color of my brows etc.?
Remember that over time the pigment fades so it is possible for you to say you would like a different shape and color up to a certain point.
How safe is this procedure? I keep hearing about communicable diseases?
This is a very good question! It is very important for you to fill out all your forms completely so your technician knows about your medical history, medications, allergies etc. The technician always uses, a new disposable needle, new gloves, new table cover, new wipes and swabs. Anything that cannot be thrown out is wiped down with alcohol.
At what age is it appropriate to have permanent makeup?
It is never too late or too early to enjoy permanent makeup; under 18 will require parental permission. We always want to look our best and when we do we seem to feel better.
Will I be able to see what it is going to look like before it is done?
Yes, the technician will draw on your brows and lips etc. first until you are both happy with the balance of your face, and any reconstructing that we are going to be doing fuller lips or thicker brows?
What if I have cold sores on my lips?
If you have ever had a cold sore on your lip it is very important that you get a prescription from your doctor for Zovirex and or Voltrax or you will stimulate the virus and become re-infected which could have an effect on the retention of your permanent lip color.
How long does this take to have done?
The procedure will take between one or two hours depending on what you are having done and how long it takes to decide on color and shape etc. Also each procedure will be done in a succession of appointments which is includes in the price.
What is involved in the healing process?
For eyebrows it is important that you know for approximately three or four days your brows will be darker than you expected them to be as they oxidize within about ten minutes of having them done. We will be giving you an antibiotic ointment that you will put on a few times a day to keep the pigment from drying and flaking off. Your next appointment will be booked in about three or four weeks. For lip color appointments you will use the antibiotic ointment as well as your prescription if you need it. DO NOT WEAR LIPSTICK, DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH, the treated area.
Stay out of direct sun, hot tubs, and pools, do not wash lips. Always use clean swabs each time you apply cream, different ones as well if you had more than one service at a time. After a few days considerable loss of pigment will be gone and within a couple of weeks you will see some of the color come back as they are healing. Ice packs can be used as well as Witch Hazel.
